The Design Center has added two very different stores to their showroom list—California-based Marge Carson and Chicago-based Holly Hunt.

Marge Carson: “Everything in our showroom has a little something extra to make it stand out,” says showroom manager Dennis Teague. It’s true, the Marge Carson showroom sparkles, literally— think mother of pearl tabletops and chairs, crystal buttons, and lots of other gorgeous, jewelry-like additions. The brand elected to open their second showroom in Texas because it fits seamlessly into the “everything is bigger in Texas” mentality—bigger houses need larger furniture!

The front of the two-story showroom features Marge Carson’s newer designs, which are more contemporary than the furniture the brand is known for. The rest of the showroom, as well as the upstairs, show off their well-known and widely-loved designs—European-inspired, dark wood bedroom, dining, and and living room pieces. The 7,200-square-foot-space shows off 750 pieces of the Marge Carson collection, 25 of which are part of their “quick ship” program, which allows pieces to be delivered to your door within a few weeks of purchase.

While they’re not having their grand opening until September 10th, the showroom is now open to designers for shopping.

Holly Hunt: Previously represented by George Cameron Nash, this is Texas-native Holly Hunt’s second showroom in the Lone Star State. Stop by to check out their beautifully constructed modern furniture in neutral colors and strategically placed pops of color. The 15,000-square-foot-showroom features products styled into contemporary vignettes, but the result isn’t overwhelming.

On the first floor you’ll find bespoke upholstery and case goods, much of which is produced in showrooms across Dallas. The second floor features fabric and wallpaper samples, as well as the largest Holly Hunt leather boutique in the nation, where you’ll find everything from buttery-soft leather in classic shades to more eccentric options like lilac suede and metallic stingray.

“Holly believes that your furniture should be the backdrop for your life,” says general manager of the showroom Nancy Winston. “Add in things like a spectacular piece of art or lighting and it all comes together.”
