Today Marks 60 Years Since JFK’s Assassination. No American president has visited Dealey Plaza since Kennedy was shot and killed. Reporter Darwin Payne revisited his old notebooks to find new insight into the events of Nov. 22, 1963. Here is Michael J. Mooney’s 2008 profile of the surgeon who was on duty both when Kennedy and his assassin were shot and killed.

Dallas Doesn’t Track Its Affordable Housing Problem. The city auditor found that city officials don’t have a running tally of total homes in order to analyze how many we truly need. The nonprofit Child Poverty Action Lab and bcWORKSHOP have done the work for the city, analyzing data that helps identify the scope of the shortage.

Small Plane Crashes into Plano Shopping Center. The single-engine Mooney M20 took a sudden nosedive and crashed just outside the 6500 block of W. Park Blvd. around 6 p.m. on Tuesday night. The pilot, who was the only person inside the plane, was killed. There were no other injuries.

Sunny, Cool Day Ahead. It won’t get above 60 today, but we’ll have the sun with us through much of it.
