EATZI’S OUT IN ATLANTA

|

Several FrontBurnervian Foodies, who love themselves some salads from EatZi’s, are worried that the Oak Lawn location will follow the lead of the stores in Atlanta that closed today. According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution:

EatZi’s, the gourmet takeout store known for the opera music that serenades shoppers, closed its Buckhead and Dunwoody stores today, an employee confirmed. The store had been locked in fierce competition with Fresh Market and Whole Foods Market for upscale shoppers looking for quick dinners. EatZi’s, founded by Phil Romano, the creator of such chains as Romano’s Macaroni Grill and Fuddrucker’s, is a privately held chain with other locations in Chicago and Dallas.

No word from Dr. Phil Romano, but that’s no surprise. I haven’t called him yet. Developing.
