Late Sunday afternoon, my 4-year old and I stopped by Beading Dreams, a charming little shop off Lover’s Lane chock full of odds and ends for jewelry making. Our browsing gave way to a full-on crafts session when we found out that kids can make necklaces for about $12 and bracelets for $6 at the store.
Everyone there was incredibly helpful and patient and after about 45 minutes my daughter was proudly sporting a seriously girly multicolored necklace with a heavy sprinkling of purple and pink hearts (must say, I did a good job of rolling with the whole pink and purple thing).
My pile of broken jewelry is always growing so I was glad to learn that Beaded Dreams fixes jewelry too (or you can buy the tools and they’ll show you how if it’s not busy). They also offer classes and have birthday party packages for kids 6 and up. Parties can be hosted at the store or the Bead Bus will come to you. Quiet, non-messy birthday party entertainment — sounds like the perfect activity!
