Nearly half of all Americans live near an accountable care organization, or ACO, a trend that makes physicians wary, according to American Medical News.
The uncertainty stems from the new model of value-based payments instead fee-for-service. This reaction has resulted in a slower transition to ACO models, according to ACO executives at a National Committee for Quality Assurance webinar.
