Texas is running out COVID-19 treatment. CDC changes isolation recommendation.

The Texas Department of State Health Services reported that four of the state’s regional infusion centers have run out of the antibody treatment that is known to be effective against the omicron variant, Texas Tribune reports.


The CDC has changed its recommendation for isolation for asymptomatic COVID-19 patients, from a 10-day isolation to five days, NBC DFW reports. The decision was made amid a rush of new cases caused by the omicron variant.


UT Southwestern is predicting a rise in North Texas cases after holiday gatherings, the Dallas Morning News reports. Omicron now represents 95 percent of cases sequenced by UTSW.


North Texas-based airlines have canceled dozens of flights during the holiday season due to the omicron variant and labor shortages, KERA reports. More than 1,000 flights around the country were canceled on Monday alone.
