Dallas Zoo Appoints New CEO

Lisa New has been appointed as the Dallas Zoo’s first woman CEO in its 135-year history. She will begin her post on Jan. 15, 2024. She joins the Dallas Zoo after serving 10 years as the president and CEO of Zoo Knoxville. New began her career at Zoo Knoxville in entry-level positions, growing into the Zoo’s Conservation Science team, and finally becoming the Zoo’s President and CEO for the past decade.

Chris Hipps, Managing Principal

Longtime CBRE executive Chris Hipps has been hired to take the helm and will lead the firm’s advisory business throughout the state of Texas. He’ll work out of Dallas and his first official day on the job will be Jan. 2, 2024. At CBRE, Hipps was senior managing director of advisory and transaction services and investor services for the North Texas region. Prior to CBRE, he spent nearly 25 years with Cadillac Fairview and its successors, Prentiss Properties and Brandywine Realty Trust.

Jeremy EdmistonExecutive Director, U.S. Lead Build-to-rent/Single-family Rent

Jeremy Edmiston has been promoted to executive director. In this new role with build-to-rents and single-family rents, Edmiston will collaborate with the firm’s capital markets and debt teams to provide unified BTR/SFR end-to-end solutions for Cushman & Wakefield’s clients. Edmiston and his team oversee a property management portfolio of 9,500 homes and a pipeline of more than 2,500 homes.

Fibbens Addo Koranteng has joined Southwest Transplant Alliance’s C-Suite as general counsel. Over the course of his career, he has specialized in business and healthcare law between his private practice and as an in-house attorney in Missouri and Texas. Koranteng formerly served as an officer and committee member in several St. Louis, Missouri, bar associations and as a mentor in the Big Brother Big Sisters program.

Garrison Efird, Managing Director

Garrison Efird has been named Managing Director in Newmark’s Dallas office. In 2023 alone, Efird advised corporations on over 3.5 million square-feet and has successfully negotiated over $500 million in transactions since joining the firm. He will continue to help manage office and industrial tenant advisory efforts both throughout Texas and across the country.

Tatiana ChamorroVice President of Marketing & Digital and Co-founding Member

Tatiana Chamorro will be the inaugural VP of Marketing and Digital for Unexpected Products, leading the firm’s branding and e-commerce strategies. She will join forces with entrepreneurs John Dallager and Steven McCarthy to improve consumable packaging. Previously, she built the marketing agency Hite Creative and co-owned its sister company, Hite Digital, a 200-employee branding agency named to the Inc. 5000 two years in a row.

Polsinelli’s latest add to its real estate finance group is Tara Darling. She will focus on advising clients on lending transactions across different commercial real estate asset classes. Joining Polsinelli from a real estate law firm, Darling represents buyers, sellers and lenders in complex lending transactions. She also focuses on affordable housing transactions, including Section 8 and HAP contracts, low-income housing tax credits, tax exemptions, including PFC and HFC transactions, and other programs created under local, state and federal law.
