Healthgrades Recognizes North Texas Hospitals With Top Women’s Care

The awards honor hospitals for gynecological surgery, labor and delivery, and OBGYN care.

The 2020 Women’s Care Awards by Healthgrades has recognized numerous North Texas hospitals for providing outstanding quality outcomes. The awards recognize elite care in women’s services, including obstetrics and gynecology, labor and delivery, and gynecologic surgery.

Hospitals from the Medical City and Methodist Health systems were the most frequently named hospitals in the awards. Medical City Arlington and Dallas have their own dedicated women’s hospitals, and Medical City Children’s Hospital has a Fetal Care Center, which offers fetal surgical procedures to unborn babies with life-threatening conditions.

Healthgrades serves as a guide for patients and referring physicians to better understand the quality of the facilities that care for women during their reproductive years. The awards recognize “hospitals that deliver top-quality care of women during and after childbirth, and for superior outcomes in surgeries to treat diseases and conditions of the female reproductive system and to correct certain conditions of the urinary tract and rectum,” according to the website.

“These awards recognize our system’s dedication to excellence always when it comes to quality, patient-centered and compassionate care,” says Erol Akdamar, president of Medical City Healthcare via release. “They are among the many reasons why Medical City Healthcare hospitals are the destination of choice for women’s care in North Texas.”
