There’s not always enough time in the day to skim a lengthy, re-worded press release that’s been stamped with “breaking” or “exclusive.” And some stories don’t warrant an entire page of prose. Each week we’ll gather the most important tidbits of Dallas food news and post them here, on SideDish. Because sometimes all you need is the scoop.

Chefs for Farmers 2017 announces lineup: The food festival is kicking off its fifth year on November 2 with pop-up dinners, tastings, and parties. According to the release:

“Kicking off Thursday, November 2 and closing out Sunday, November 5, the festival is mixing up its venues to offer guests some new places in the city for foodie inspiration. Events will be held at several of the city’s top venues including the iconic, landmark hotel The Adolphus and the emerging Victory Park district.

For the first time, The Adolphus in downtown Dallas will serve as the host hotel, providing a gorgeous spot for visiting chefs and food lovers from afar. The venue will offer intimate chef-led events and educational programming for festival-goers and special CFF room rates, to be announced soon. The Adolphus will also host the annual Friday Night Welcome Dinner in its iconic 19th floor ballroom. Called ‘Know Thy Farmer,’ this seated dinner pays tribute to North Texas farmers and is presented by Celebrity Cruises and Whole Foods Market. The heart and soul of the festival, this special evening will pair farmers and chefs to create five unparalleled courses for 125 lucky guests.”
