1. McKinney is the third-fastest growing city in the country, down a spot from last year. And yet I still don’t know one person who lives there or anyone that ever goes there. That, however, may have more to do with my long-standing policy of not talking or making eye contact. UPDATE: I know Spamboy. I guess.

2. This doesn’t look good for the DPD: police found $400,000 worth of cocaine in a 2004 Infiniti. No big deal? They had been using it. For two months. After seizing it at a home in Northwest Dallas where they also found cash, drug scales, and more cocaine. Come on, guys–show a little hustle: “[Deputy Chief Julian] Bernal said the narcotics division searched both of the vehicles and found nothing. The Honda was sold at auction. Bernal said police plan to contact the person who bought it to find out if drugs were hidden in the Honda, too. And, they are also trying to find out who owned the cocaine they have been secretly driving around with.” Welcome to amateur hour.

3. You wanna know why the Morning News‘ website is terrible? Not enough time? Understood. I’ll just give you this quick example: when I started talking to the internet late last night, Josh Hamilton’s dramatic, two-run, walk-off HR was not the top story on dallasnews.com. It wasn’t even in the top 10. It was midway down the page hidden by a headline that was too cute by half (“Texas Rangers taste victory with slice of Ham”). But it was the top story here.
