Hamilton

Through June 14, 1 p.m., 1:30 p.m., 7 p.m., 7:30 p.m. | 2403 Flora St. 
Hamilton, one of Broadway’s biggest hits, will be running in Dallas through next month. The show depicts the rise of Alexander Hamilton with a critically acclaimed score featuring the sounds of jazz, R&B, and hip-hop. The iconic cultural and educational show has earned 11 Tony Awards, a Grammy, several Olivier Awards, and the Pulitzer Prize for Drama.

Jose Vargas’ Lucha Libre Art Exhibition

Through June 14, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily| 2600 Live Oak St.
Stop by the Latino Cultural Center to see its latest exhibit showcasing artworks exploring Luchadores and Luchadoras, or Mexican wrestlers. The theme of the show translates beyond just the sport itself, and highlights its cultural significance in Mexican history. 

Prokofiev Piano Concerto No. 2

May 23, May 24, and May 26, 3 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. showtimes| 2301 Flora St. 
Tune in for Prokofiev’s Second Piano Concerto and Walton’s first symphony this weekend at the symphony center. Both pieces have been noted to draw on the power of the orchestra, featuring the voices of the Dallas Symphony Children’s Choir, the Dallas Symphony Orchestra, and Denis Kozhukhin on the piano.

EVERGREEN [to grow]

May 23 to May 25, 7:30 p.m.| 2400 Flora St. 
EVERGREEN [to grow] is a musical performance centered on the goal of opening a discussion on climate change in Dallas. The musical act includes violinists, the Julius Quartet, and a cellist performing Caroline Shaw’s The Evergreen together.

Memorial Day Concert

May 24, 2:30 p.m.| 300 N. Allen Dr., Allen
Usher in Memorial Day remembrance and celebration with live music at The City of Allen’s Memorial Day Concert. The show will include a performance by New Horizons Band featuring The Black Horse Troop March by John Philip Sousa, Grant Them Rest by Barbara Buehlman, Texas Star March by David Lovrien, and other patriotic songs. The event will also include a presentation of the colors by VFW Post 2195

Memorial Day Family Fun Weekend

May 25 to May 27, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.| 8525 Garland Rd.
Head to the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Gardens for a weekend-long Memorial Day event. In addition to 65,000 colorful new blooms, the event will include live music, a petting zoo, tours, tastings, and more for the whole family.

Mars Hill Farm Glad Fest 2024

May 25, June 1, and June 8,  9 a.m. to 2 p.m.| 1604 Mars Rd., Ferris
Mars Hill Farm’s annual Glad Fest is back for another year. Beyond picking your own gladiolus flowers, the event will include farm tours, local vendor booths, and local food to try. If you head to the farm on June 1, don’t forget to sign up for the 5k.

Boho Market at Klyde Warren Park

May 26, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.| 2012 Woodall Rodgers Fwy. 
Head to Klyde Warren Park and take a stroll through The Boho Market, a curated open-air market showcasing local and handcrafted goods from artisans across North Texas. The event focuses on bringing in local vendors to sell to their local market.

Dallas Memorial March

May 26 to May 27, 12 p.m. to 12 a.m.| 3505 Maple Ave. 
Honor all the veterans who have made sacrifices for our freedom this weekend at the Dallas Memorial March, hosted by Carry The Load. The two-day event features Memorial Day education, a silent walk around White Rock Lake, and other activities for the whole family.

Parks Concerts Presented by the Dallas Symphony at Flag Pole Hill

May 27, 8:15 p.m.| 8015 Doran Cir. 
This year the DSO’s Symphony in the Parks Memorial Day performance will include the U.S. Army Band “Pershing’s Own” and The U.S. Army Chorus. The performance will include an array of patriotic tunes and the show will wrap up with fireworks.

Memorial Day at the DFW National Cemetery

May 27, 11 a.m.| 2000 Mountain Creek Pkwy.
In partnership with the Texas National Cemetery Foundation, the DFW National Cemetery is hosting a Memorial Day event featuring a wreath-laying ceremony, speeches, a flyover, and a moment of silence honoring veterans.

Idles

May 23, 8 p.m.| South Side Ballroom
UK band Idles will hit the South Side Ballroom stage Thursday night in support of their new album, Tangk. The band teamed up with Kenny Beats (who has collaborated with the likes of Ed Sheeran, Key, Gucci Mane, FKA twiggs, and Flo Milli) and Nigel Godrich to produce an album that Variety says was “one of the most innovative rock records in years.” Their last album, 2021’s Crawler, earned two Grammy nods.

Diljit Dosanjh

May 24, 8 p.m.| American Airlines Center
Punjabi artist Diljit Dosanjh became a global star thanks to singles like “G.O.A.T.,” “Lover,” and “Proper Patola,” and only enlarged his audience when he began appearing in Indian movies. Thanks to collaborations with Sia and Diplo, his fans come from all over the world now, too. Biggest indication of how popular he is? He’s playing the American Airlines Center Friday night.

Gunna

May 24, 8 p.m.| Toyota Music Factory, Irving
Atlanta’s Gunna hit the road on his Bittersweet Tour earlier this month, and makes a stop in Irving Friday night. The tour, named after his February single of the same name, comes after 2023’s album a Gift & a Curse. The rapper has partnered with Black Music Action Coalation to support his nonprofit organization Gunna’s Great Giveaway, and $1 from every ticket sold goes to support initiatives in Atlanta. Flo Milli opens.

Exodus Festival 2024 

May 25-26| Toyota Music Factory, Irving
Gospel star Kirk Franklin will host his Exodus Festival at Toyota Music Factory Saturday and Sunday, bringing with him fellow worship artists like Fred Hammond, Kierra Sheard-Kelly, Koryn Hawthorne, Madison Ryann Ward, Le’Andria Johnson, Todd Galberth, Transformation Worship, Naomi Raine and more.

TwoGether Land

May 25-26| Fair Park
We could start reciting all the acts that will play at TwoGether Land over the weekend, but we’d be here a long time. So here are the highlights: Lil Wayne, Summer Walker, Latto, Gucci Mane, Three 6 Mafia, and Key Glock, plus local acts like Big Tuck, Erica Banks, Yella Beezy, and Dorrough. Ubbi Dubbi

May 25-26| Panther Island Pavillion, Fort Worth
If you love dubstep, trap, electronic music, house, and techno, you’re probably going to find something to love at Ubbi Dubbi. Organizers have lined up two days full of acts including Afrojack, Alison Wonderland, Dabin, Galantis, RL Grime, Elderbrook, Svdden Death, and more. The event will also feature R.A.V.E. (Register and Vote Everywhere), an initiative that encourages voter registration.

Neil Young and Crazy Horse

May 27, 7:30 p.m.| Dos Equis Pavillion
After postponing his scheduled May 2 show because of pretty gnarly weather predictions, rock legend Neil Young is going to try this again Monday night. (Good news, so far clear weather is predicted.) Young and Crazy Horse embarked on a 15-city tour earlier this spring to support their new album, FU##IN’ UP, which features songs from their 50-plus years together.
