Office Space: Downtown Dallas is Just Plain Hot These Days

Downtown dallas is just plain hot these days. Developers and corporate executives are scrambling for every available square foot of high-end, status-symbol office space—especially anything associated with the burgeoning Arts District. What’s more, it’s the big names who are jockeying for position in the Central Business District: Comerica Bank, 7-Eleven, and Fireman’s Fund Insurance Co. are among the giants casting shadows in the downtown loop. In fact, the CBD had 400,000 square feet of positive absorption inside the downtown loop in the second quarter alone —that’s almost 40 percent of all the positive office-space absorption in the entire Dallas-Fort Worth market during the period.

Here, the vitals on five key projects expected to be delivered in the downtown and Uptown areas by Spring 2009.
