But what does that really mean? Sometimes it’s the location (White Rock Lake, anyone?). Sometimes it’s the style. Sometimes it’s the age. Sometimes it’s a standout feature, like a fabulous pool or Dionysian wine fridge.
Other times, it’s the number of folks talking about the home. So, to determine the hottest properties of 2021, we rounded up your favorite homes in our Hot Property series over the past 12 months insane months of real estate. Enjoy.

Just about every space is understated and airy, with pops of personality, like the foyer’s sunburst chandelier. 6. A Reimagined 1940s Cottage Near White Rock Lake

Create Atelier has brought a charming old home into the modern era, just like the Dilbeck cottage. Despite the moody and dark façade, the house’s front porch and steps were specially designed for chatting with neighbors. Create Atelier kept some of the house’s original elements, like the hardwood floors and glass knobs on the closets, while updating the inside, like installing rift-cut white oak kitchen cabinets and vaulting the ceilings from eight to 18 feet.
7. A Chic Contemporary in Preston Hollow

This Preston Hollow modern marvel features clean lines, minimalist virtues, and bright white walls. However, modern certainly doesn’t discount personality. Every room of this contemporary house features its own flair. For example, the hall bathroom’s herringbone-tiled wall and fluted cabinetry is dark and moody, while the neutral marble waterfall island and white oak furnishings give the kitchen an earthy aesthetic, and the master bathroom and closet are larger and grander than some boutiques.

Even though it’s huge. Lots of windows bathe the 3,483-square-foot home in natural light, and the roomy chef’s kitchen spills into the living room, creating a wonderful entertaining space, you’re not enjoying the dining room’s large wine cellar or the outdoor fireplace, of course.
9. A Creekside Beauty in Preston Hollow

We all can’t help but want to live in a Preston Hollow abode every now and then, especially this luxe 7,000-square-foot home, which sits on over an acre of lush, tree-covered land. Every room has walls of windows to show off the landscaping, which is truly the home’s pièce de resistance. 10. A Sweet Home on Swiss Avenue
