April is on its way, and with it comes plenty of home tours. For those of us who like to glimpse behind the closed, architecturally stunning doors of some of Dallas’ most beautiful or intriguing homes, an excellent month lies ahead.

13th Annual Park Cities Historic Home Tour | April 11th

Ease into the home touring month with four beautifully preserved, historic homes in Park Cities. First, purchase your tickets to join SMU President Dr. R. Gerald Turner on April 1 for a luncheon at Dallas Country Club where you’ll learn about “SMU and Park Cities: One Hundred Years of Developing Together.” Then head to the actual tour on from 10am – 3pm on April 11 to soak in the cultural significance and beauty of four long-standing Dallas homes. What can you expect? An unpretentious Cape Cod home owned by only one family since it was built in the 1920s, a Culture Gulch house, and two of the oldest extant homes in Highland Park and University Park.

Advanced tickets are available for $20 online or at Tom Thumb area stores, and can be purchased for $25 on April 11 at Tom Thumb stores and tour homes.

14th Annual Turtle Creek Home Tour | April 12th

When given the option, most would probably go out of their way to drive down the lush, leisurely Turtle Creek Boulevard to get to their destination. Peek into five towering high-rises that are lucky enough to call Turtle Creek home as well as a 1924 Tudor that was once home to Gen. Edwin Walker, a controversial figure in the Warren Report on the Kennedy assassination.

Cap off the day with an exclusive after party reception hosted at the home of Trammell S. Crow on Rock Creek Drive. Buy your tickets here, but act fast, the early bird discount (10% off) ends March 31.

10th Annual White Rock Home Tour | April 25th & 26th

Love all things bright, sleek, and mid-century modern? Join like-minded guests and modern architects on Friday, April 24, for a reception at McKinney Avenue’s Design Within Reach. The event kicks off a weekend of home touring from noon to 5pm on Saturday and Sunday. Tickets are $15 in April at White Rock Coffee, Green Spot, Select Tom Thumb stores, or Hypnotic Donuts or $20 at the door of any tour home during event hours. All proceeds go towards Blue Ribbon winning Hexter Elementary.
