HCA Healthcare's $50 fund, Arizona-based primary care expanding to Texas, a new clinic in southeast Dallas, and more.

Medical City Healthcare’s parent company HCA Healthcare has established a $50 million community impact fund to address community needs and healthcare equity called the Healthier Tomorrow Fund via the HCA Healthcare Foundation. It will provide grants to 25 communities across the country, including North Texas.


Arizona-based Apricus Health is expanding to Texas. The technology enabled healthcare company is offering community-based independent physicians with a focus on seniors and provides 24/7 access to care, with remote monitoring and telehealth offerings.


Danica McGuire will be the new executive director of Ventana by Buckner. The high-rise senior living community has several levels of care and a partnership with Baylor Scott and White Health.


Parkland Health and Hospital System and Jubilee Park Community Center have broken ground on Jubilee Clinic in Southeast Dallas. The 15,000 square foot clinic will provide a variety of services, including primary and dental care. It will also offer free nutrition programs and partner with Jubilee Park & Community Center and a free behavioral health clinic in partnership with Jewish Family Service of Dallas. It will open in 2022 and serve 3,500 people in the first year.


Dr. Natasha Houshmand won UT Southwestern Medical School’s Ho Din Award. Houshmand was President of the UT Southwestern Chapter of the Institute for Healthcare Improvement, Vice President of the Trauma Surgery Society, and helped organize a Domestic Violence Awareness Week initiative for the American Medical Women’s Association. The Ho Din Award is given by the Southwestern Medical Foundation to physicians who demonstrate knowledge, understanding, and compassion.
