DFW Healthcare Brief: THR Expands Graduate Medical Education and BSW’s Ellis County Expansion

Texas Health Resources is increasing the number of residents receiving training at hospitals in Fort Worth, Hurst-Euless-Bedford, and Denton in partnership with the TCU and UNTHSC School of Medicine. By July, there will be 50 residents in these facilities, and the partnership looks to expand to 110 residents by July 2024.


Baylor Scott & White Heart and Vascular Hospital – Dallas is expanding to Ellis County as part of a $47 million campus expansion for Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Waxahachie. Cardiovascular interventional services, electrophysiology treatments, and non-invasive services, such as high-speed cardiac CT, cardiac ultrasound and other non-invasive testing will be part of the 85,000 square foot expansion. New catheterization rooms, electrophysiology labs, and an outpatient nursing unit are also in the plans. The expansion will be complete in spring 2023.

Recognized facilities include Medical City Arlington, Medical City Children’s Hospital, Medical City Denton, Medical City Fort Worth, Medical City Las Colinas, Medical City Lewisville, Medical City North Hills, Medical City McKinney and Medical City Plano.


U.S. Oral Surgery Management, a specialty management services company serving oral and maxillofacial surgeons, has formed a partnership with Oyster Point Oral & Facial Surgery of Newport News, Virginia. It is the first such partnership in the state.
