Dr. John Carlo named TMA Council of Legislation Chair, Cariloop raises $15 million, And UT Arlington celebrated as one of the best in the nation.

Dr. John Carlo the CEO of Prism Health North Texas, has been named chair of the Texas Medical Association Council on Legislation, which develops and implements TMA legislative policies at state and national levels. Carlo has served in numerous leadership positions with TMA including chair of the TMA Council on Socioeconomics, a member of the TMA COVID-19 Task Force, and has been a legislative council member since 2018.


Dallas company Cariloop has completed a $15 million Series B round of funding. The public benefit corporation pairs caregivers and their families with dedicated coaches as the plan for and manage their loved one’s health, and launched out of Healthcare Wildcatters. The funding roung was led by Atlanta-based Noro-Moseley Partners along with the KCRise Fund, Revolution’s Rise of the Rest Seed Fund, Patterson Thoma Family Office, MPK Equity Partners and 1843 Capital. Cariloop’s total funding is now $24.1 million, and the new round will help it quintuple its membership base of caregivers, parents and families they serve; and more.


The National League for Nursing has named The University of Texas at Arlington as a Center of Excellence for the University, which is the fourth time in recent years that UTA’s College of Nursing and Health Innovation (CONHI) has received a Center of Excellence designation from the NLN. The organization includes 40,000 nurse educators and 1,200 member institutions, and UTA is the top producer of baccalaureate-degreed nurses in Texas.
