Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins reported 498 new cases of COVID-19 on Monday. There were two deaths of men in their 50s and 80s, bringing the county’s grim death toll over 2,000.
Over 5,200 Texans are currently hospitalized due to COVID-19. There were nearly 50 deaths reported on Sunday, The Texas Tribune reported.
Fourteen percent of Tarrant County’s occupied hospital beds are being used for COVID-19 patients. The county saw nearly 500 new COVID-19 cases on Monday with no deaths, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported.
Hospitalizations are increasing in Lubbock, causing businesses in the city to reduce capacity per Governor Abbott’s orders. Over 400 caregivers are currently quarantined due to contact tracing, KERA News reported.
