Dallas designer Caitlin Wilson has become synonymous with cheerful prints, patterns, and colors. Wilson’s designs initially appear preppy and all-American, with palettes of baby blues, blush pinks, and creams. Take a closer look, though. Wilson spent years abroad as her career blossomed, and her work reflects the influence of her travels, from chinoiserie wallpaper to French-inspired furniture.

Wilson’s mission has always been to create beautiful, yet livable designs, the sort that can stand up to the wear and tear of a family’s daily life. Now, she’s taking things a step further. Cait Kids, a new line designed specifically for children, is releasing later this month.

The first collection includes rugs, pillows, bedding, furniture, wall art, and more. Price points are relatively accessible: rugs start at $148 and pillows at $88.

“As a mother of 4, I am always looking for beautiful products that are sweet and classic but have enough personality to feel fun for kids,” says Wilson. “There is something so rewarding about creating a children’s bedroom … It feels like it’s worth every effort to foster imagination and create a safe haven for these precious little people.”

Designing for children can be difficult. How does one celebrate their interests while maintaining an elevated aesthetic? Cait Kids offers a stylish solution. Its understated prints incorporate childhood pastimes in a chic, not garish, way. One print includes sailboats, for example, while another features horses and jockeys. The collection is ideal for mixing and matching; solid bedding can complement patterned wallpaper and vice versa.

Unlike most to-the-trade designer lines, Cait Kids is a direct-to-consumer brand. Wilson’s Henderson Avenue showroom will stock Cait Kids pieces in the future; for now, shop online at caitkids.com.
