Update: Tenet Healthcare presented a $350,000 donation to the El Paso Community Foundation after originally pledging $100,000 with $50,000 to match employee contributions. Tenet Healthcare’s employees and business partners exceeded the original goal.
Tenet Healthcare has made a $350,000 contribution to support the victims and families following the mass shooting in an El Paso Walmart over the weekend.
Tenet has 5,300 employees in El Paso, and operates four The Hospitals of Providence facilities as well as 50 outpatient clinics and other care facilities. The donation is made on behalf of The Hospitals of Providence, Tenet’s United Surgical Partners International and Conifer Health Solutions subsidiaries, which all operate in El Paso. The Tenet Healthcare Corporation will match up to $50,000 in employee contributions as well. The money will go to El Paso Community Foundation’s Shooting Victims’ Relief Fund.
Ron Rittenmeyer, Executive Chairman and CEO, said via release, “This devastating event has caused an inconceivable amount of pain and grief for the entire El Paso community. We salute the efforts of the El Paso Community Foundation to provide support during this time of sadness and loss. We also want to extend our gratitude to all the caregivers in El Paso, including our employees, as well as other community hospitals, first responders and local law enforcement for their efforts to care for victims and their families during this tragedy.”
Dallas-based Tenet has 110,00 employees and operates a diverse set of healthcare facilities and businesses, including 65 hospitals and 500 other facilities including surgical hospitals, ambulatory surgery centers, urgent care and imaging centers and other outpatient facilities.
