Miriam Cocina Latina to open in former LARK on the Park space: The latest concept from restaurateur
Shannon Wynne is scheduled to open next month.
According to the release:
The namesake restaurant celebrates Miriam Jimenez, a restaurant veteran well-known for her tenure with Mr. Mesero and Mesero restaurants during the tenure of Mico Rodriguez.

“I walked into a fashionable Mexican restaurant several years ago and was struck by the charisma and charm of the big grin on the authoritative woman greeting folks as they entered. I returned weekly because of this woman. When her bosses moved her to a new Addison location I perceived a drop in my enthusiasm for my weekly visit. When it came time to reconceive our LARK concept I told my partners I was fresh out of new ideas, except for one. I wanted to track down that woman with the giant grin and build a concept with her. So, here we go. Miriam is in charge. We need another Mexican restaurant in Dallas like we need another hole in the head. But what we don’t have enough of is that feeling I had when I walked into that fashionable Mexican restaurant years ago. Recognition, love and appreciation from the second I entered. We hope to change this soon.”

Wheelhouse brings back all-vinyl DJ Sunday brunch: The Design District restaurant is teaming up with The Good Taste Collective (full disclosure, these DJs are close friends of mine, I think I’m supposed to tell you this for ethical reasons or whatever) for another season of Sunday on Center Court.
According to the release:
Running April 7 through September 1, Good Taste Sundays will feature a weekly rotation of some of the most original vinyl DJs in Dallas curated by The Good Taste Collective, a DJ duo made up of Dallas-based creatives Jessica Roberts and Daniel Perez. Find the perfect table on the covered outdoor patio, while listening to vinyl sets from the likes of genre-defying Lisa Bush and hook master Gabe Mendoza spinning everything from ’60s Italian cinema scores to Krautrock and Britpop.
Sip on new brunch cocktails, like the Platino Caliente, Daisy By Design and Giant Bloody Mary, alongside tasty brunch dishes that include avocado toast, chorizo chilaquiles, blueberry pancakes, and fish and chips. The brunch menu is available from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., in addition to the regular lunch menu. DJ sets from noon to 3 p.m.
Uchiba to host whiskey and Wagyu dinner: A menu hasn’t been released yet but I bet this is, like, really super fun and delicious. The six-course dinner is paired with spirits selected by Rashidi Barrett of Beam Suntory Cocktails.
