Unabashedly Texan. That’s Keith Cargill, who became CEO of Texas Capital Bank in 2013. From the hunting and fishing memorabilia in his office to the original currency of the Republic of Texas framed on his walls, Cargill says his office is a testament to his deep Texas roots. Cargill grew up on the Texas Gulf Coast, and he graduated with a business administration degree from Baylor University and an MBA from The University of Texas at Arlington. He was among the founders of Texas Capital Bank after a long career in finance, including executive positions with Comerica Bank, NorthPark National Bank, and Texas American Bank. Prior to Texas Capital Bank, he also founded a privately owned venture capital firm, Cargill Lakes Inc., and a financial services company, Mack Financial. “Bootstrapping and working your way from the ground up—that’s the Texas way,” he says.
