Lights All Night, the end-of-year music festival coming to Dallas Market Hall on December 28 and 29, has announced an unexpected addition to this year’s lineup. To enhance the already overwhelming sensory experience, art pop-up Sweet Tooth Hotel is setting up a 14,000-square-foot lounge onsite at the festival. A group of artists including Sweet Tooth Hotel founder Jencey Keeton, Pixel Lab, and Shamsy Roomiani, are creating a totally new installation for the event.
Picture a surreal garden with alien trees, illuminated flowers, and levitating heart swings. Keeton says it will give festival goers a sneak peek of what the team has planned for 2019, when Sweet Tooth Hotel moves into a permanent home in Victory Park: “If attendees watch the custom LAN animations closely, they’ll see lots of clues about what’s coming up next!”
Lights All Night usually includes some visual elements in its programming, but this is the first time it’s mounted an installation of this scale.
“This is a first for Lights All Night!” says the festival’s co-founder and curator Scott Osborn. “The Sweet Tooth Hotel partnership is something I’m especially amped about and it should add an entirely new layer to the onsite experience.”
The lounge will be open to both general admission and VIP ticket holders, but VIP guests will have exclusive access to installations from Sweet Tooth Hotel’s first incarnation, like that checkerboard bathroom with the pink tub.
This year’s festival has Diplo, Rezz, and Kaskade headlining Friday, December 28, and Tiësto, Excision, and Gucci Mane headlining Saturday, December 29. Single day tickets start at $99.95, and weekend passes start at $149.95.
