Last night, 1,600 people dressed head-to-toe in white gathered on the Continental Avenue Pedestrian Bridge in celebration of Dallas’ first-ever Dîner en Blanc. What is Dîner en Blanc, you ask? In 1988, a handful of Parisians gathered in the Parc de Bagatelle in the Bois de Boulogne for a “chic picnic.” The dinner has since grown and popped up in multiple cities across the globe. While I’m not entirely convinced that the event isn’t a ploy to clear out all of the post-Labor Day white clothes lingering in retail clearance sections, last night’s gathering was a clear success.
