Tuesday, April 14 is National Grits Day. That’s right, these’s an entire day devoted to the versatile, coarsely ground grains.
In honor of the delicious holiday, Café Momentum will hand out free grits (and toppings) from noon until 2 p.m. at Thanks-Giving Square (1627 Pacific Ave.).
After filling up, head over to Main Street Garden at 7 p.m. for a screening of True Grit, and a panel discussion on women’s roles in film with Julia Dyer, Angie Bolling, Cynthia Mondell, and Reis McCormick. Still hungry? Joe Groves from Ellen’s Southern Kitchen will be plating up more grits during the film.
Bonus: Taco Joint and Original Pancake House are teaming up with Downtown Dallas Inc. and Big D Reads for the holiday. Taco Joint is giving away grits with every combo order, and Original Pancake House is offering bacon cheese grits.
