THUMB AWARD How Much More CAN DISD HANDLE?

|

Thumbs Down to U. S. District Judge Barefoot Sanders for his most recent Dallas desegregation order, which changes the attendance zones of W. T. White, Bryan Adams and Hillcrest high schools. The judge, musing self-righteously in his ruling, says that it seems that time would have taught the DISD that busing is the law of the land and should be vigorously embraced by school administrators. We agree with DISD president John Martin, who pointed out that it seems that time and experience would have taught the federal judiciary that busing is having a catastrophic effect on America’s public schools. The judge’s ruling simply takes Dallas one step further toward an all-minority school system.
