Cowboys fans are mourning the end of another season, but there’s still football to be played in North Texas. Oregon will meet Ohio State at Jerry World tonight for the college football national championship, with the game itself accompanied by an onslaught of concerts, watch parties and ESPN talking heads. Here are a few ways to forget the pain of Dez Bryant’s catch-not-catch.

1. Ticketholders can enjoy the official tailgate party in the AT&T Stadium parking lot, which begins at noon and comes to a head at 6 p.m. with a performance by the Zac Brown Band. ESPN will broadcast live from Fort Worth’s Sundance Square until 3 p.m. Watering holes throughout the area will show the game on a TV near you. Here are some of our recommendations. Kickoff is at 7:30 p.m.

2. The sports-averse among you can see wrestling legend turned stand-up comedian Mick Foley at the Addison Improv at 8 p.m.

3. The Arts & Letters series begins 2015 at the Dallas Museum of Art with Texas Bound I, featuring essay and story readings by three Dallas writers and award-winning author Bret Anthony Johnston. Today’s edition is called “Family (Dys)function,” an appropriate theme following the holiday season.
