The Lakewood Theater has been in the reunion business lately, hosting shindigs devoted to The Basement and the original KDGE-FM crew over the past few months. Next up, on October 9, is a get-together of some of the former denizens of the late, great Hot Klub, the old Dallas punk club whose sound was immortalized on the Live at The Hot Klub album on VVV Records. (I actually saw someone wearing a VVV shirt in front of The Green Spot over the weekend.) George Gimarc will MC, Mark “DJ Mr. Rid” Ridlen will spin between bands, and the Devices, Quad Pi, Telefones, Superman’s Girlfriend, Barry Kooda Combo, Big Guns, Fallen Idles, and the Assassins are all scheduled to play. Highly recommended.
