Here are two soccer-related posts on other blogs intended for those who are interested enough to follow them, but not so interested that they already know: Wilonsky has got the goods about Tom Hicks and how he might have to sell his interest in Liverpool, thanks to the credit crunch. Meanwhile, Pegasus News’ Erin Rice reported the rumors that FC Dallas owner Clark Hunt was interested in buying Newcastle United. (She updated it today with Hunt’s denial.) Here’s the soccer-related scoop I can contribute: Youth soccer has some fancy trophies these days. First of all, everyone gets one, including my niece’s and my nephew’s teams that didn’t win their division or anything. Secondly, they’ve got a tiny soccer ball in them that spins like a globe. They’re neat.
