Saw this on our former colleague Paul Lukas’ Uni Watch column for ESPN.com. In March, the Mavs will participate in the NBA’s Noche Latina promotion. Which means, for one night, they will be Los Mavs. Before that, they’ll be involved in another dressing quirk. When they play the Blazers on Christmas day, they’ll be wearing their normal green alternate uniforms. Since it is Christmas, the Blazers will be wearing their red alternates. Not sure if the refs will be dressed like Santas. Rethinking headline verbiage now. Possibly should downgrade to “marginally” or “not remotely.” But if you’re into “the obsessive study of athletics aesthetics,” there’s much more interesting info at that top link or this one.
