Angela Hunt Explains When She’ll Run For Dallas Mayor

That's what you call a "tease."

Ear-Burner logoFormer city councilwoman, and persistent fly in the Dallas Citizens Council’s ointment, Angela Hunt stopped by the Old Monk yesterday afternoon to chat with Tim and Zac on D Magazine’s EarBurner podcast about her future political prospects, recent setbacks for proponents of the Trinity toll road, the crane accident at the Dallas Museum of Art, and which television program most resembles her own law practice.

A few corrections and clarifications for listeners:

1) “Reticulate” means “resembling a net or network.” A reticulated giraffe is one subspecies of giraffe noted for the well-defined white lines around its spots that look something like a net. See here. And see here how it compares to the spots of another subspecies, the Masai giraffe.

2) L.A. Law currently does not appear to air in syndication or stream online. Eerily, news of senior partner Leland McKenzie’s death was breaking just as the 1986-1994 NBC series was being discussed on EarBurner.

3) This is the Airplane! line that Tim misquoted.

4) Hot Springs Village, Arkansas, is the largest gated community in the United States, about 20 miles north of Hot Springs. People live there and not in the 11th-largest city in Arkansas, presumably, because cities are dangerous.

UPDATE, 1:58 p.m.: 5) Coalition For a New Dallas is a Super PAC and therefore prohibited from coordinating with candidates for political office. It will not be donating money to any candidates.
