I’ve watched and written and especially edited so many great words about baseball this month that we didn’t do one of these last week, but it’s time to get back to it … with plenty of more baseball on tap.

Here’s what I’m watching this week:

Monday 10/30 through Wednesday 11/1—The World Series: Rangers at Diamondbacks—7:00 p.m., FOX

Hardly groundbreaking stuff, just as I’m not telling you anything you don’t know by saying that Rangers’ fate on this road swing probably determines the series.

We’ll continue to have coverage from Jamey Newberg after each game, win or lose.

Monday, 10/30—MLS Playoffs: FC Dallas at Seattle8:00 p.m., FS1

Starting tonight, the Rangers won’t be the only North Texas team in the postseason. Will Maddox has more on why FC Dallas could be getting hot at the right time as they take on a very similar opponent in Seattle.

Friday, 11/3—Mavericks at Nuggets9:00 p.m., ESPN

What better way to test this new roster—and promising first-round rookie center Dereck Lively, in particular—than with an early-season tilt against Nikola Jokic and the defending champion Nuggets? A win in Denver would elevate a promising early-season start to another plane as Dallas aims to return to the postseason.

Sunday, 11/5—Cowboys at Eagles—3:25 p.m., FOX

As Jake Kemp wrote this morning, Dallas’ trouncing of the Rams demonstrated everything one could hope to see heading into a game that will put the winner in pole position in the NFC East.
