When Hamilton Sneed thinks about his affinity for the arts, he reminisces of youthful summers in NYC where he would visit his now 97-year-old grandmother Myrtle (aka “Toots”). It was through Toots, where he would experience the transformative power of live theater on Broadway. And now, leading the efforts for the Dallas Theater Center’s “CENTERSTAGE 40: A Brand New Day” gala as the Event Chair—Sneed longs to bring his passion for Broadway to Dallas, with an unforgettable cabaret-jazz-inspired evening styled after Broadway’s Supper Club, that will culminate with a once-in-a-lifetime performance by award-winning Broadway deity, André De Shields.

CENTERSTAGE will be held on May 4 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Fashion Industry Gallery. The annual gala is a fundraising opportunity for patrons to support the productions and programs of the TONY AWARD® winning theater company. The fête will mark the 40th year for the Centerstage gala, as well as the 65th anniversary for the Dallas Theater Center organization (DTC). The evening will include a cocktail reception, seated dinner and program, along with a vibrant live auction & paddle raise.

Honorary chairs for CENTERSTAGE include Chairman T.D. & Mrs. Serita Jakes and Helen & Frank Risch. The Linda and Bill Custard Award will be presented to DTC Life Trustee, Donna Wilhelm.

Proceeds from CENTERSTAGE make it possible for DTC to continue the inclusive and creative work of the organization with community and engagement programs. For more information or to purchase tickets to CENTERSTAGE, please visit www.DallasTheaterCenter.org/gala.
