Six Spring Classes to Unleash Your Inner Artist

Your inner florist, chef, or designer is in there somewhere.

Make pretty personal floral accents with help from The Southern Table.

First thing you should know: I’m all about the sunshine. I love that it’s hanging around a little longer these days to light my walk home from work and make it feel more like summer. But if you, like me, tend to feel a little restless when the days get longer, here are a few fun classes to help you unleash an artistic talent, fulfill some passions, and, you know, keep you occupied until the sun goes down and you can get in bed again.

We are 1976

Though sadly, their Henderson Avenue shop will be closing at the end of March, Dallas’ purveyor of bold letterpress posters, offbeat greeting cards and quirky commodities will still be rocking it over in Oak Cliff where a revamped shop is in the works. Go check out We Are 1976‘s Bishop Arts storefront this spring and sign up to learn the basics of chalkboard lettering, letterpress posters, and even how to build your own terrarium. Click here to sign up now and find even more classes.

Urban Spools

I can’t tell you how excited my mother would be if I ever picked up sewing. My sister and I use to dabble in cross-stitching as kids, but we never did learn how to hem a dress without the help of a stapler. Do moms of the world a solid and sign up for a class at Urban Spools. Just looking for a fun place to craft? Gather some friends for their Thursday “Sew”cials held during the first and third week of every month.

Fullosophie

Okay, if you haven’t heard of Fullosophie yet, a company that gives creative entrepreneurs the opportunity to lead their own workshops, consider yourself informed. Some upcoming April classes include “Mobile Photography, Editing + Instagram,” “Floral Design: Crowns and Boutonnieres,” and a calligraphy brunch. A calligraphy brunch, you guys. You can even go on a “glamping” retreat this May. Go ahead, unleash your inner Pinterest-approved god or goddess, but sign up to do so quickly. Fullosophie classes sell out like hot cakes.

Sur La Table

Ah, Sur La Table… a haven for the culinary-inclined. Every time we visit the store we wish we cooked more. Luckily, whether you’re the Top Chef of your group or just want to learn how to cook spaghetti, Sur La Table has a class for you. Click here to check out April’s class lineup, then feel free to contact me directly if you’d like to sign up for a macaron workshop.

Bows And Arrows

Floral arrangements from Bows and Arrows are anything but typical (think lush and romantic with a unique woodsy accent), so there’s certainly no better spot in Dallas to master the art of the flower crown. Whether you’re looking to add the trendy touch to your wedding or are anticipating the oncoming inspiration you’ll get from Coachella pics, click here to sign up for their April 30th class to prepare your floral masterpiece.

Cake Carousel

There’s a cake pops making class… need I say more?
