DFW Healthcare Brief: FC Dallas Has a Local Healthcare Jersey Sponsor and Medical City’s New President and CFO’s First Day

Children’s Health and UT Southwestern Medical Center will be the 2023 jersey sponsors for FC Dallas. The multi-year partnership make the health systems become the exclusive providers for FC Dallas, North TexasSC, and FC Dallas Academy, FC Dallas youth. The collaboration will include FC Dallas ambassador visits to the medical centers and community events. Children’s Health will the sponsor on FC Dallas’ primary jersey and UT Southwestern Medical Center will appear on FC Dallas’ secondary jersey.


Medical City Healthcare’s President Allen Harrison and CFO Kristin Dyer began their tenure at the hospital network this week. They replace Erol Akdamar and Ronnie Midgett, who were promoted to the president and CFO respectively of parent company HCA Healthcare’s American Group Region. Harrison arrives after serving as president and CEO of Methodist Healthcare in San Antonio, and Dyerpreviously served as CFO of the HCA Healthcare North Florida Division.


Communities Foundation of Texas honored Dr. Marcellus Clayton Cooper with the installation of a historical marker in his honor. Cooper was born in 1862 as a slave on the Caruth Farm in Dallas, which is the current location of CFT. His mother was Black and father was White, and he went to school in a freedman’s town in what is now is Lake Highlands. He worked at Sanger’s Department Store while saving for dental school in Tennessee, and later became the first licensed Black dentist in the state of Texas.


Humana shut down most of its SeniorBridge locations across the country, according to a Humana spokesperson. After acquiring the home care provider a decade ago, they are closing locations in Arizona, Connecticut, Florida, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Ohio, Virginia, and DFW. The spokesperson said the locations would be closed and not sold.


TimelyMD is now a four-time winner in the Merit Awards for Technology and Healthcare. The program recognizes global industries and the market they serve. TimelyMD won a gold ribbon for excellence in Healthtech and a silver ribbon in Education. TimelyMD aims to provide care to the higher education market and currently serves 1.5 million students at nearly 250 campuses.
