Nearly 1 out of 3 physicians with electronic health records (EHR) either plan to switch vendors in 2013 or would like to do so, according to a February survey of more than 17,000 physicians and other EHR users by Black Book Rankings, a technology market research firm.
“Meaningful use incentives created an artificial market for dozens of immature EHR products,” said Doug Brown, managing partner of Black Book Rankings, in a news release.
The survey results echo those of market research firm KLAS in July that found that nearly half of 300 practices who were buying EHR systems were not first-time purchasers.
