5 November Fitness Events to be Thankful For

Drink while you stretch or prepare for copious amounts of turkey with an 8-mile race.

From races to yoga, November brings several can’t-miss fitness events. We’ve highlighted five of the month’s best offerings.

Brew HaHa! Workout

Benefitting Genesis Women’s Shelter, Brew HaHa! is a partnership between Chamberlain Studios of Self Defense and Oak Highlands Brewery. A $20 entrance fee will get you a t-shirt, pint glass, three beers, and a workout. There will also be live bands and the Potbelly food truck.

When: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Nov. 7 (Doors open at 10:30 a.m.)

Where: Oak Highlands Brewery

Beer Yoga

This event allows you to enjoy all things beer and yoga at the same time. Bring your own mat, and experience an hour of yoga in the air-conditioned taproom. In celebration of NTX Beer Week, The Soulful Gypsy boutique will also be on site. The $20 admission fee includes the yoga session and two pints of beer. This session is limited to 50 people, so register early.

When: 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 7

Where: Collective Brewing Project (112 St. Louis Ave., Fort Worth)

 

PurpleStride DFW 2015

Benefitting the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, PurpleStrideDFW will take runners and walkers throughout Uptown. The event starts and ends at Klyde Warren Park. If you want to know more, go here.

African Dance with Fihankra Dance & Fitness Studio

All ages and skill levels are invited to take a class from Fihankra Dance & Fitness Studio, whose mission is to offer dance and fitness at an affordable rate so families can easily stay healthy in a fun environment.

When: 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Nov. 15

Where: Ginsburg Family Great Lawn, Klyde Warren Park

 

Dallas YMCA Turkey Trot

Kick off Thanksgiving Day by joining the Dallas YMCA’s 48th annual Turkey Trot. The event includes an 8-mile race and a 5K run/walk through downtown Dallas. The race will conclude with post-race refreshments and activities for kids.

When: 9 a.m. to noon Nov. 26

Where: Dallas City Hall Plaza (1500 Main Street)
