The pandemic is growing need for pediatric mental health, but there often aren't enough beds.

Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins reported 1,303 new COVID-19 cases and 30 deaths. There were nearly 4,000 vaccine doses administered at the Fair Park mega-site, he tweeted.


The pandemic has induced a landslide of mental health needs for kids, but there often aren’t enough pediatric psych beds to meet the need. The Dallas Morning News reports that a nonprofit’s help line is connecting families with the appropriate services.


New studies show that people with dementia are more likely to catch and die from COVID-19 reports the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. An analysis of more than 61.9 million patient records in the U.S. found that people with dementia are more than three times as likely to get infected with the coronavirus than individuals without dementia. 


The White House has announced a new COVID-19 task force to provide more vaccines for community health centers in vulnerable communities reports WFAA.  In a statement from the White House Tuesday, the Biden administration announced the launch of a “Federally Qualified Health Center program that will provide more vaccines for Community Health Centers that are reaching our underserved and most vulnerable communities.”
