More than 3,000 new COVID-19 cases reported over the weekend in Dallas County alone. Dallas ISD shuts down an elementary school.

Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins reported 3,001 new cases over the weekend with two deaths. “What happens in the coming days as we approach Thanksgiving and the days after is dependent on each of you making good choices: telecommute to the fullest extent possible, stop visiting in one another’s homes and avoid crowds during this time of extreme spread,” he tweeted.


Many employers are improving health care benefits in light of COVID-19. Changes in virtual care and increased focus on mental health illness are leading employers to begin capping deductibles and broadening the scope of health benefits to include behavioral health coverage, physical therapy and more, The Dallas Morning News reported.


Over 10,500 Texas tested positive for COVID-19 on Friday, an increase by over 1,000 cases compared to the previous day. 7,000 Texans were hospitalized and almost 175 died due to the pandemic, The Texas Tribune reported.


Amidst the growing spread of COVID-19 in public schools, Dallas ISD has shut down Caillet Elementary. The Northwest Dallas elementary school with nearly 600 students closed last Monday after the confirmation of five positive cases among students and staff members, The Dallas Morning News reported.
