“Paycheck Peeking” Disappoints
I AM DISAPPOINTED with your magazine. The front cover of your November issue caught my attention with the cover line “What People Like You Are Earning Right Now in Dallas.” For the first time. I purchased your magazine, only to discover that my job as a corporate pilot (or any job vaguely similar) was not covered in the article. Your cover is misleading-it really doesn’t include people like me. Come to think of it. the article doesn’t cover most of the people who work in the Dallas area. Instead, it focuses on the “well-to-do.” Without further reading, the magazine went straight into the recycle paper bin.

I JUST BOUGHT YOUR NOVEMBER 1998 ISSUE because of the cover article, “Paycheck Peeking.” The last time I bought your magazine was for your annual neighborhood review. I was disgusted to find that your paycheck article was a complete waste of time. All your researcher did was read financial reports and county documents.
I expected much more. Funny enough, as I bought the issue I thought, “I should subscribe to D Magazine” After reviewing the article, I threw your subscriber form in the trash.
You’ve lost a subscriber. I hope you’ll have your writers do actual work in future issues rather than just throw words around public information. This issue now brings into question the value of your annual neighborhood issue.

Rave Reviews for Food Coverage
I WAS ENAMORED with your review for Dale Wamstad’s Three Forks restaurant. Having been an avid reader of your magazine for years, I dissect your reviews, and all are so accurate. Thank you.

I WANTED TO WRITE CONCERNING THE RECENT reviews in the restaurant section of your magazine. Your perception of the Vaquero Sampler was 100 percent accurate. Even though our food is not purposefully touched or overly garnished, this plate has gotten very full and sloppy. Thank you for bringing this to our attention, and I can assure you that this problem has been addressed and fixed.

JFK Revisited
THE QUESTION THAT NEEDS TO BE ANSWERED is, if the fatal gunshot blew off a large area at the mid to right occipital bone and entrance is always smaller than exit, how did that shot come from the side or back of the car? Part of this is physics and part is experience in an ER that makes me still wonder what really happened. Where are the original X-rays and medical records’? Maybe these issues are the reason the assassination of JFK cannot be put to rest by the people in this country.
