Texas Health Resources Named as ‘Most Wired’ Health System

|

Arlington-based Texas Health Resources have been designated among the nation’s “most wired” institutions in recognition of its implementation and use of information technology in its health-care delivery systems, Hospitals and Health Networks announced this week.

“We see IT as a strategic lever that enables us to achieve superior business and clinical outcomes,” said Edward Marx, senior vice president and chief information officer at THR. “Our IT strategy is completely aligned with our overall strategy as an organization. Everything we are doing has a technology underpinning. If our organization is going to get to the next level, then we need all the levers to pull together. I’m right in the mix with all of our initiatives.”

The annual “Health Care’s Most Wired Survey,” sponsored by Hospitals and Health Networks magazine, measures a hospital’s level of adoption of information technology relative to other hospitals and health systems. The survey data is distributed, collected, and analyzed by Health Forum, an American Hospital Association company, which develops industry-standard benchmarks for IT adoption.
