Yesterday, I ran into the new food editor at the Asian Night Market at the Bomb Factory. As was fitting of the event, we had a very brief conversation in which I learned that she has lived in the Philippines. We touched on the dearth of Indonesian food in Dallas, and I surreptitiously popped fried shallot morsels into my mouth, making, I am sure, an excellent impression.
