The Newly Opened Home, James!

The newly opened, East Hampton-bred accessories store Home, James! is as perfect a fit for Dallas’ stylish WASP clientele as an olive in a (monogrammed) martini glass. Owners Josef Schreick and David Cipperman opened a store in Travis Walk after so many of their Dallas-dwelling customers insisted. Don’t summer in the Hamptons? Not to worry. The environment is laid-back, as if one might be sock-less in loafers at a beach resort where good taste reigns: English bone china, Portuguese pottery, monogrammed table linens, hand-embroidered Gordonsbury linens from South Africa, and gifts including French hand-painted toys. Unique antiques are shipped in throughout the year and handsomely displayed against the lime green and white and coral-accented walls. Movies play on a flat screen, and salespeople shun business suits for preppy casual. And don’t spare the horses for gifts for the hard-to-please: soaps by Bronnley, given as personal gifts by the Queen of England, and a package of six bars of Rancé for $50. Even the idle rich love a bargain. 4514 Travis St. 214-528-0700. www.homejameseasthampton.com.
