After 20 years in commercial real estate, industrial tenant representative Blake Anderson has joined Savills Studley’s Dallas office as Co-Branch Manager and Southwest Regional Industrial Services Leader. Anderson and longtime manager Frank McCafferty will co-lead the branch.
The firm’s complete focus on tenants and its fiduciary responsibility to clients attracted Anderson to the firm, he says. Anderson’s focus, he says, will be growing the office’s industrial presence.
“Currently [Savills Studley] does not have a big industrial presence in Dallas,” he says. “I thought this [job] was a great opportunity to enhance and grow the team and Dallas, and in Texas.” Though that growth strategy is “not a matter of putting people in seats,” he says. “Right now, the focus is on using our highly skilled team [locally and regionally] to facilitate and conduct business for our clients.”
With Dallas-Fort Worth being such a hot area for industrial real estate, there’s plenty demand to capture. “Twenty years ago, DFW industrial [real estate] wasn’t even on the map,” he says. “Now we’ve got 400 people moving here a day, and that results in distributors and vendors moving here … I think everyone in North Texas continues to be pleasantly surprised by the momentum we continue to see.”
Anderson comes to Savills Studley from Cushman & Wakefield where he was senior managing director and principal. Before its merger with DTZ, Anderson held the same title at Cassidy Turley. Savills Studley was founded in 1954 to exclusively represent tenants. Its Dallas office has 22 brokers.
