Who is your style icon?
“I appreciate the power of Victoria Beckham’s style incorporating her full-time jobs: mother, designer, and businesswoman. But, ultimately, Kate Moss is my girl because she prefers her own rules. Plus, she made thrift shopping cool.”
How does your work influence what you wear?
“I’m very focused on what I do professionally, and I’m very focused on my kids. I don’t really get too stressed out about what people think a lawyer should wear. It’s not all corporate contracts and obligations. It’s also helping build a world-class brand that cleans up after your pets and babies. It’s an interesting dichotomy. We don’t take ourselves too seriously around here, which means I can wear a T-shirt and Rug Doctor Trucker hat. If I have a hearing or important meeting, I haven’t forgotten how to put on a black dress and tailored jacket. Bottom line, I used to wear clothes that would make me stand out, and now I don’t so much because I work someplace that values personal expression and comfort and don’t feel I have anything to prove.”
What inspires your style choices?
“I never try to follow a trend or fashion. I just do what feels right. Over the years, my style has become less about a perfect body or labels and more about personality and something in which I can easily catch escaped hamsters with my littles.”
How would you describe your style?
“My friends call it ‘tomboy chic.’ But really, my style is whatever I choose it to be, whatever makes me feel most confident that day. You’re just as likely to see me at Thrift City as Neiman Marcus. Trendy pieces are everywhere in thrift stores because there’s always a decade that’s come full-circle. My only thrift store rule is, ‘No underpants or puzzles.’ When I look back at my past self, the way I dressed was probably a sign of insecurities. Sure, my ’90s shoulder pads and intimidating pointy heels were sweet … but I’m quite confident in myself now, and I can dress up or down. There’s no one style that defines me, and getting older doesn’t bother me. Not everyone is going to like what I do, but I look back at everything, and it makes me smile.”
What do you never leave home without?
“A shot of red lipstick. It makes anything I wear look more deliberate and polished.”
Do you have a go-to look?
“If I had to boil it down to one weekday look it would be a black boyfriend blazer, a really good pair of jeans, heels, and a fun bag. My weekend look seldom swerves beyond jeans, a tank top, a jacket, and boots.”

“Neiman’s downtown is my happy place.”
