There’s not always enough time in the day to skim a lengthy, re-worded press release that’s been stamped with “breaking” or “exclusive.” And some stories don’t warrant an entire page of prose. Each week we’ll gather the most important tidbits of Dallas food news and post them here, on SideDish. Because sometimes all you need is the scoop.

Stirr offers new dessert menu: The Deep Ellum restaurant and bar has expanded its menu and is now offering a selection of new sweets. The list includes:

Bananza: Pate a choux, mascarpone mousse, burnt caramel, banana cremeux, banana ice cream and brûléed bananas

Mile-high meringue pie: Lemon custard, toasted meringue, lemon thyme ice cream, thyme-graham crumble

Tower of s’mores: Graham crunch, chocolate ganache, pretzel cream, graham cracker ice cream, chocolate brownie, toasty marshmallow meringue, pretzel and cocoa nib crumble

Berry berry apple: Berry medley, caramelized apples, spiced and nutty streusel, homemade vanilla bean ice cream

Mi Dia From Scratch celebrates National Tequila Day: The Plano and Grapevine locations are offering drink specials, and tequila flights, in honor of National Tequila Day. According to the release:

“In order to educate patrons on the agave spirit, Mi Dia From Scratch will be showcasing their expansive selection through flights and premium shots, which range from $8 to $100 full price. Extra-añejo tequilas are aged more than three years in barrels or containers with a maximum capacity of 600 liters. With extended aging, the tequila becomes darker, extremely smooth and offers complex flavors. Although these drink specials will be taking place, the full beverage menu, as well as infused on-tap tequilas, will be available for visitors to enjoy.”

Dog Haus offers new menu: The gourmet hot dog, sausage, and burger restaurant in Richardson added something called the Bad Mutha Clucka to its menu. What is it? A chicken sandwich. According to the release:

“Bad Mutha Clucka features all-natural cage-free crispy chicken breast with no Hormones and no antibiotics, on a bed of lettuce, pickles and haus-made miso ranch, served on grilled King’s Hawaiian rolls. Bad Mutha Clucka is the result of Dog Haus’ creative culinary collaboration with highly regarded chef and winner of Bravo’s Top Chef Season 2, Ilan Hall.”
