Calhoun, Bhella & Sechrest LLP will double its space at Republic Center.

The Dallas law office of Calhoun, Bhella & Sechrest LLP signed on to renew its current space at Republic Center in downtown—and then some. Under the new lease, the firm will go from occupying 2,987 square feet of space to 5,975 square feet in the 49-floor office tower. By doubling its footprint in the building, the firm will now have an opportunity for growth.

“This new space will provide the firm greater opportunities to recruit and retain talented attorneys, to better serve its clients, and to aggressively grow additional long-term business,” Todd Noonan, Stream Realty Partners senior vice president, said in a statement.

The Republic Center tower, which offers residential, retail, and office space, underwent a $75 million renovation in 2000. Terms of the Calhoun Bhella lease were not disclosed, but the posted rate for the building is between $19 and $21 per square foot.

The law firm has additional offices in Raleigh-Durham, N.C., and an affiliated office in Santa Barbara, Calif. The Dallas location is the founding office and focuses on commercial litigation and transactional services.

Noonan represented Calhoun, Bhella & Sechrest LLP in the transaction. The landlord, Four Point Star L.P., was represented by Trae Anderson, Kathy Permenter, and Sarah Savage of Younger Partners.
