Now, she is on disciplinary probation following a months-long investigation by campus officials.
Judge Clay Jenkins Proposes a Cut in the Property Tax Rate. Higher property taxes bring rent increases, which directly impact many working families as half of Dallas County’s residents are renters. This is the second year in a row that Jenkins has proposed cuts to the county property tax rate in an effort to help working families.
This Downtown Skyscraper Will Be The Tallest in Three Decades. The 45-story apartment high-rise, which will be built by Chicago-based developer Amli Residential, will go up next to Fountain Place on the north side of downtown. The tower will hold 367 units and will take about two years to build. This will be the tallest new downtown building since the 55-story Chase Tower opened in the late ’80s.
The Palm Restaurant Is Closing. In a letter to customers, the owners of the West End restaurant cited a concern for safety and welfare as their reason for closing. The 33-year-old restaurant, which served as shelter for an injured officer during the July 7 ambush, will remain open through June 30. The Palm’s owners hope to find a new location for the restaurant in Dallas.
