Have you all made your reservations for DFW Restaurant Week? The party starts on Monday. If you haven’t signed up, head here and do it.  Your local restaurants will thank you.

I had the pleasure of dining at Hibiscus recently. Despite the loss of chef Graham Dodds, the place is still marvelous. It’s really morphed into one of the most sophisticated dining spots in Dallas. Our faithful reader and reporter OldLakeHighlander also hit Hibiscus and reported it “pleases on all levels.” The review also says: “Big, bold, skillful flavors with that nit-picky everything-just-right delivery. Their wine list pairs perfectly with the dishes, too. If you have never been, go. If you have not been in a while, well. . . go back!” (Must I send OldLakeHighlander a freelance fee?)

Italian food gets a couple of mentions from RodD. After a few visits, RodD claims “Sprezza has found a place in my regular rotation.” The lobster pasta and prosciutto and melon appetizer were “real treats.” Sprezza is “a great addition to the Dallas Italian dining scene.”

RodD is something of an Italian food lover. His wife was out of town so he took himself to Lucia to celebrate his birthday alone. Don’t be sad. He walked in, got a seat at the bar, and “as always, the service was great, the food was excellent, and even though I was alone I felt like I was eating with friends and family not strangers.” There aren’t many places like that in Dallas.
Any you, dear reader. Where did you ingest calories this week?
