What started in 2010 as a funky gringo taco joint on Greenville Avenue is now poised to spread tacos across the globe. It’s too bad founder Rusty Fenton is not here to see the success of his little baby. Fenton passed away in June 2013.

Today, Buffalo Wild Wings made a majority investment in Rusty Taco. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Currently there are nine locations: two company-owned restaurants and seven franchised locations in three markets (Dallas, Denver, and Minneapolis/St. Paul). In a press release, Rusty Taco CEO Steve Dunn says, “Our co-founder, Rusty Fenton, always said, ‘Tacos are the most important meal of the day’ and we truly live that every day by providing our guests with the freshest ingredients and authentic tasting tacos at an affordable price.”
